GATHERING ACTIVITY: Find the Treasure
Materials:
•
Tiny Treasure box
How to Play:
•
Send the Cubs out into the hall.
•
During their absence, hide the treasure chest in
an inconspicuous, but visible, place.
•
Bring the group back in – everyone tries to
locate the treasure. Those that do go to the middle of the room and site down
on the floor without saying anything. A pirate that reveals the location of the
treasure to other pirates has to walk the plank!
GAMES: Cat Tails
Materials:
•
20 - 30 pieces of heavy string, each piece six
inches in length
How to Play:
•
Hide all but three or four pieces of string.
•
Have each boy select a chair to be his ‘Cat’ and
help him tie a long piece of string to it.
•
At a given signal, all players scatter to find
the hidden strings. As a cub finds one, she takes it to her “cat” and ties it
with a square knot to the last piece of string on the “cat’s” tail.
•
Finish:
The boy with the longest tail of strings with correctly tied knots wins.
GAME: Buried Treasure
Preparation:
•
Prepare a map with compass readings that will
lead the Cubs to the ‘buried treasure’!
