We have an astronaut in our midst! Sister Andersen is trained as an astronaut and agreed to come and share some of her knowledge and experience with our Cub group. She shared some really interesting information and taught us a great deal about space.
Space Exploration Badge:
1. We learned how space technology helps with weather forecasts, communications, search and rescue operations, map making and more.3. We learned about the robotic arm on the Space station - the Canadarm. We will draw or make a robotic arm in Cubs to finish this requirement.
4. We learned about (and even sampled) the food they eat on the space station. How they get water, grow and store food, produce power and even how they sleep, exercise, work and relax. We will make a model out of food to finish this requirement.
2, 6, 7. We talked about each of these badge requirements and will finish them up in Cubs before we disperse for the summer.
