GAME: Hide and Seek
Instructions:
•
Use whatever is available to you in your
cultural hall. Ensure that you keep things safe. If time permits before the
meeting begins allow the Cubs to try out sections of the obstacle course.
GAMES: Spud
Materials:
•
Soft Ball
•
Outdoor playing area
How to Play:
-
This outdoor game is a lot of fun. Every player
gets a number and crowds around the person who is “it” for that round. “It”
then tosses the ball straight up and the other players run away. As the ball
reaches the top of its toss, “it” calls out the number of one of the other
players and then runs away also. The player whose number was called must run
back and catch the ball (or chase after it if it is bouncing around). Once that
person has the ball, they yell, “Spud!” Then everyone else must freeze. The
person with the ball must try to hit one of the players with the ball. If they
do, that new person gets a letter (first S, then P, then U, then D) and is now
“it.” If they miss, the person who threw the ball is “it” for the next round.
GAMES: Wolf’s Dinner Time
Materials:
•
Outdoor play area
How to Play:
·
One player becomes the wolf and he/she will
stand with his/her back turned to the others about 15 feet from the others. The
others call out, "Whats the time Mr. Wolf" and the wolf turns to face
the others and shouts out a time. Eg: 9 o'clock. The others would then take 9
steps toward the wolf. The group will take the same amount of steps toward the
wolf as the amount of hours in the wolfs time. eg, 4 o'clock = 4 steps, 6
o'clock = 6 steps etc. etc. The wolf will then turn his back to the group again
for them to yell "whats the time...." (He looks at the group only
when he shouts the time at the group").
·
When the group comes close to the wolf the next
time the group yells "whats the time Mr. Wolf" the wolf will say 'Its
DINNER TIME" and run after the group who are running back to the start
line, and hopefully catch one of the group who will then be the wolf. It sounds
noisy, but is an interesting game.
GAMES: Animal 20 Questions
How to Play:
Choose one person to start. This person must think of an
animal. To make the game easier, he or she can classify what he is thinking
about by saying land, water, or air. Have other players ask questions about the
object that can be answered yes or no. The person who has the object in mind
should answer the question with a simple yes or no. After hearing the answer,
the questioner is allowed to guess the object. The players are allowed to ask a
total of 20 questions. If the guess is correct, the winning questioner now
thinks of a new object. If the answer is incorrect, another player is allowed
to ask a yes or no question.
GAMES: Coins in a Bucket
Materials:
•
Bucket
•
Quarters
•
Pennies
•
Water
How to Play:
Step 1: Fill a bucket with water, and drop a quarter into
it.
Step 2: Take a handful of pennies, and drop them into the
bucket one by one. Try to drop each penny so that it lands right on top of the
quarter.
Step 3: Keep track of how many tries it takes to
"capture" the quarter. If you're playing against a friend, take
turns, and the one who captures the quarter first wins.
