Gathering Activity: Puzzle
Materials:

Puzzle the boys can put together
Set the puzzle up on its own table and as the boys begin to
gather direct them to the puzzle until everyone arrives.
THEME ACTIVITY: IMAGINE AN ADVENTURE
Materials Needed
·
Interesting pictures to inspire the imagination
·
Pencils and erasers
·
Paper
Display all the pictures and assign one to each boy. Have
him write a brief description of the adventure he sees in the picture.
Remind the boys not to talk about their work or they will
give the game away.
Badgework: WHMIS
Materials Needed for Each Boy:
Worksheet for symbols of danger found on hazardous products
Talk about each symbol making sure the boys know what they
mean and the danger of playing with such substances.
Badgework: INTRODUCING CODES
Hand out 2-3 different codes for the boys to use in
rewriting their stories. Explain how they work and how to use them.
THEME ACTIVITY: CRACK THE CODE
Materials Needed
Code cracker
Paper
Have each boy rewrite his description using the code. Have
the boys exchange papers, crack the code and determine which picture is being
described.
